Joyce Hall Mellinger
Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Zurich North America
Joyce Hall Mellinger is Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel in Zurich North America’s Corporate Law division. Since 2011, she has been responsible for the delivery of property & casualty insurance regulatory legal services for Zurich’s U.S. businesses. She is a member of the Chief Legal Officer’s Leadership Team and is the Employee Engagement Champion for the Owings Mills, Maryland office. Since joining Zurich in 1994, she has served in various legal and underwriting roles. Prior to joining Zurich, Mellinger provided insurance regulatory, business and trusts & estates legal counseling in an international law firm.
Mellinger has been active in representing Zurich in state insurance guaranty fund matters since 1998. She is Chair of the New Hampshire Insurance Guaranty Association and serves on the Boards of three other state guaranty funds in addition to her service on the Board of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds (NCIGF).
Mellinger has a law degree from The Dickinson School of Law and a bachelor’s degree with honors in English from Franklin and Marshall College. She is professionally certified as a Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding, and Associate in Reinsurance. She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
