Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Safiya made Atlanta home when she moved to attain her Bachelor’s in Economics and Master’s in Communication from Spelman College and Georgia State University, respectively.

Sincethen, Safiya has honed operational skills in the pharmaceutical, merchant processing, radio, and market research industries. Now she has the pleasure of leading PURE Insurance’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts, where  she is avidly committed to fostering environments where everyone has an equitable chance to learn, develop and succeed, and where all feel welcome, safe and supported to do their best work.

In her spare time, Safiya loves to paint, read, collectvinyl’s, pretend to play the guitar and explore both new and familiar things with loved ones, including the little sister she mentors through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.
