Candace Bourg

Product Development Director, AIG

Candace Bourg is Product Development Director for AIG Programs with a mission to drive growth and profitability through product innovation and improvement.   She leads her team to accomplish this through market analysis, collaboration with program business partners and staying abreast of industry trends and emerging issues.   Aside from her business role at AIG, Candace serves as president of its Boston Women & Allies Employee Resource Group.  In 2020, she celebrates her 20th year in the insurance industry.

Preceding her current role, Candace was Program Manager at AIG for four years during which she managed a $70Million GWP portfolio of multiline programs across various industry segments.   Prior to joining AIG, Candace was Manager of Program Risk Specialists, a division of Genesee General Agency in Alpharetta, GA.  There she gained valuable experience developing and marketing start-up program concepts to Genesee’s carrier markets.   Before her MGA experience, Candace spent 14 years on the carrier side.  As Senior Program Coordinator at American Safety Insurance in Atlanta, she managed a portfolio of $40Million GWP including both E&S and standard market business.  She began her career at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in Alpharetta, GA where she worked for seven years.  During that time, Candace undertook significant professional development to advance her career, moving from an administrative assistant to multiline Commercial Program Underwriter.

Candace is a self-proclaimed “insurance nerd” with a passion for the power of education.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of West Florida as well as the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations from The Institutes.   She is a member of the Boston Chapter of CPCU Society.
