Managing Director, Commercial Executive Team, US Financial Services, Microsoft
Deborah Smith is a senior sales executive with over 10 years of experience at Microsoft, currently serving as the Managing Director for the Commercial Executive Team in the US Financial Services business. She leads a national team that is responsible for supporting customers in securing technology that aligns to their digital transformation vision and collaborates broadly across the Microsoft ecosystem to enhance this engagement. She also serves as the Compliance Lead for the Financial Services business.
Prior to this role, Deborah was the Chief of Sales Operations & Excellence for the Northeast Enterprise business as well as a Sales Leader for the high-tech and manufacturing vertical. Prior to joining Microsoft, she worked for several early-stage software cloud companies delivering innovative and market making solutions to Fortune 500 companies. She was responsible for leading the sales, marketing and client services team of a start-up that had a successful exit to Wolters Kluwer.
Deborah also has a background in strategic and management consulting, having worked for Booz-Allen & Hamilton and Mercer Human Resources Consulting in addition to founding her own business development consulting practice. She is passionate about talent development and is a former lead of Diversity & Inclusion for the Northeast region at Microsoft.
Deborah resides in Boston and Newport, Rhode Island. She and her husband lead an active lifestyle taking advantage of all that the New England area has to offer. Her academic allegiance is to the Big Ten, completing her undergraduate work at Michigan State University and earning her MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
