Relevant Experience/Specialization
La’Vonda has 14+ years of combined insurance and legal experience in all aspects of management liability lines of coverage, including Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, Fidelity, Fiduciary, Healthcare Regulatory Liability, and Miscellaneous Professional Liability.

La’Vonda leads the business’ overall Global FINEX strategy in industry specialization for North America. She is responsible for providing strategic direction and delivering risk advisory services for clients on a national basis. La’Vonda is also responsible for consulting, negotiating, strategizing, and marketing placements for all management liability lines of coverages. Her clients include a number of public, private and non-profit organizations with a focus on the structure, design and breadth of their executive liability insurance programs.

Previously, La’Vonda worked at a national law firm in Atlanta, Georgia specializing in labor and employment law, defending employers in all aspects of employment litigation.

Prior to attending law school and practicing law, La’Vonda worked at Zurich North America. While at Zurich, La’Vonda was a Senior Underwriter in the Management Liability Group. She had responsibility for Zurich’s employment practices liability book of business for the Southeast region.

Role at Willis Towers Watson
In addition to her industry segmentation and placement broking role, La’Vonda is the Global FINEX Healthcare Industry Leader for North America.

La’Vonda is also the Atlanta office leader for Willis Towers Watson’s (WTW) Multicultural Inclusion Network and a National Co-Leader for the WTW partnership with the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA).

Education and Credentials
La’Vonda serves on the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) Board of Trustees and is the Board Chair for the newly formed PLUS Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Allyship (DEIA) Committee. La’Vonda was named a 2018 Business Insurance Break Out Award winner and was a recipient of the 2020 WTW CEO Circle Award.

She is a frequent speaker on management liability related topics. She has presented on panels hosted by King & Spalding, PLUS, ASHRM, Cayman Captive Conference, Continuing Education events, WTW Healthcare Forum and WTW Managed Care Forum.

La’Vonda is admitted to practice law in Georgia, as well as the Northern and Southern District of Georgia. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, NAAIA, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

La’Vonda is a graduate of Howard University School of Law. She received her bachelor’s in business administration (B.B.A.) degree from the University of Georgia, with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance.
