Sarah Gavlick is the Regional President for Markel Assurance Northeast Region.  Markel Assurance is a division of Markel corporation (NYSE:MKL), a diverse financial holding company including insurance, reinsurance, alternative capital solutions and investment operations around the world.

Sarah joined Markel in 2004 as Assistant Manager of excess & umbrella.  Soon after, Sarah was promoted to Director of Marketing and later to Regional President for the Northeast Region.  She is responsible for three office locations – Red Bank, NJ; Boston, MA and New York, NY.  Her responsibilities include oversight of production and underwriting for all property, casualty and professional liability products supporting various distribution channels.

Sarah has more than 25 years of insurance experience.  Sarah began her career in 1990 at Gen Re in the Casualty Facultative Division.  After time spent in Stamford, CT and Philadelphia, PA, she was promoted to Vice President and managed a team of underwriters in New York, NY.  Sarah earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University.

Sarah is currently serving on the WSIA Education Foundation Board of Directors.  Sarah also serves on the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Northeast Division Board of Directors and is active as a grantee relationship manager.

Sarah is a proud support of operations Healing Forces and received The Flag of the United States, flown over Headquarters, United States Special Operations Command, on October 26, 2018, for her fundraising efforts.
