Shay joined Liberty Mutual in June 2018 as part of an underwriting development program where she held various assignments in middle market, mid/large sized property, and risk control business units. Today, Shay is a field construction underwriter responsible for managing a profitable commercial book of business on accounts in the Mid-Atlantic region, specifically Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.

Prior to joining Liberty Mutual, Shay worked for U.S. Bank as a risk, compliance, and audit specialist where she investigated suspicious activity on accounts related to structuring, money laundering, and possible terrorist activity. Concurrently, Shay was a full-time college student serving as vice-president of Gamma Iota Sigma, an insurance and risk management fraternity. Shay developed a mentorship program aimed at young professionals to grow the industry pipeline.

Shay is actively engaged in serving the Boston community through her roles as a founding board member for the National African American Insurance Association of Boston and the Boston Associate Board for the Insurance Institute Charitable Foundation.

Shay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Insurance and Risk Management from the University of Cincinnati and is currently pursuing the Associate in Underwriting designation.
