Laura Beckmann is President and Chief Operating Officer of AmRisc, LLC. Prior to assuming this position in 2017, she was the firm’s Chief Administrative Officer and Manager of Business Development.
Laura brings a strong focus on execution, ethics and compassion to all aspects of her role at AmRisc, in which she manages operations, business development, production, claims administration, learning and development, strategic planning, regulatory compliance and financial forecasting. She played pivotal roles in the company’s acquisition and sale of American Coastal as well as in the successful restructure of AmRisc’s senior management team.
Always up for a challenge, Laura is highly adept at successfully managing multiple tasks in fast-paced, creative and public-facing environments. Prior to joining the insurance industry, she worked in production for the NBC television show, Friday Night Lights, and she served in production and post-production roles for the Warner Bros. television show, One Tree Hill. She began her professional career in customer service roles in banking, at First Bank of Texas and Bank One Corporation.
Laura received a Bachelor of Arts from Texas State University. She is a Licensed Texas General Lines Property and Casualty Agent, and a graduate of the Lloyds of London Broker Academy, where she gained additional insight on the global insurance and reinsurance markets.
Laura is a board member and vice chair of the Volunteer Committee of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (Houston Chapter). She is also a member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization), and a contributing member of WSIA and CIAB. Outside of work, she is passionate about the arts, culture, travel and cooking, especially with her three daughters.
