Riva Dumeny

Senior Vice President, AmWINS Group Inc.

 

Riva Dumeny is a highly accomplished executive with twelve years of success within the healthcare and insurance sectors. She holds extensive experience leading company growth for service organizations and market expansion initiatives for small to mid-market companies. Her broad areas of expertise include business development, organic growth, outsourcing, process improvement, leadership, operations, vendor management, P&L, financial management, workforce management, contract negotiation and client management.

Currently, Riva is the Senior Vice President of AmWINS Group, Inc., where she is charged with furthering centralization efforts throughout the organization, effectively supporting non-sales operating functions for the field offices, with an end goal of implementing process control and improving efficiency and quality. The central servicing unit for AmWINS Group includes a combined force of 200 employees (US-based W2s, as well as an outsourced team in China). Riva also holds responsibility for AmWINS Single Point of Contact solution - a centralized team of Underwriters and Brokers who provide outsourced placement services to large Property and Casualty retail clients in an efficient, technology enabled environment.

Between 2014 and 2017, Riva served as the Chief Operating Officer of AmWINS Group Benefits Inc., where she organized restructuring and cost reduction efforts that led to a marked increase in profitability from the time she joined. She expanded technical compliance, account management and consultative sales functions to secure several high-volume third-party administration contracts.

Prior to joining AmWINS in 2014, Riva worked for Connextions, which was acquired by UnitedHealth Group (UHG) in 2011. She held a variety of roles under UHG’s service umbrella, Optum, including her role as Vice President and Service Division Leader. She was responsible for fifteen large client relationships, primarily focused on Healthcare Benefits organizations, with a $98 million P&L, a combined direct report and matrix organization of several thousand year-round and seasonal workers, and corresponding strategic account plans.

Riva currently sits on the Harbor House of Central Florida Board, a nonprofit to aid individuals in the Orlando area who are survivors of domestic violence. She serves as Treasurer on the Executive Committee and Chair of the Young Professionals Board. Riva was nominated to Orlando Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list in 2014. She also received a Top Women in Healthcare recognition from Insurance Business Magazine.

In 2016, Riva received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, with a dual major in Operations and Information Systems and Management. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics in 2006 from Rollins College.
